Level of accuracy: Near Moscow, Russia
I was born in 1970 in Moscow
region where I still live today. Astronomy had interested me rather early
and I shall not forget how at the age of 10 years I first saw the
Andromeda Galaxy through a 30 mm pipe. However, my interest in
astronomy dissolved in the vanity of teenage life even though I studied it
for a couple of years at a Moscow planetarium. My enthusiasm fired anew at
age 20, for it was then that I began telescope making. This soon led
to visual observing and only later in 1995 did I become engaged in
astrophotography. I now understand that this has been my calling.
