Biography
I currently live in
Asheville, NC, and image from my observatory, a 7' diameter Boyd
Observatory. I own property at Mano Prieto (a very dark site with no
light pollution), between Ft. Davis and Marfa, Texas, and plan soon to
move there, where I will construct a 12' diameter observatory (Clamshell),
and will be imaging from that location sometime in 2006, hopefully! I
image with a 12.5" RCOS Truss RC, using an ST-10XME SBIG camera on an ME
Robotic German Equatorial Mount. I do mostly deep-sky imaging, with
galaxies being of primary interest. I plan also to hunt asteroids from
time to time. I am retired and devote most of my time to
astrophotography. I have changed the name of my observatory and website
from Iron Mountain Observatory to Mano Prieto Observatory to reflect the
pending move to Texas, but anyone contacting me through the previous
website address or e-mail address will find that those will automatically
send you to the new links as listed here.
