My interest in astronomy started in Christmas 1999 with an unexpected gift from my wife Isabelle -- a pair of 10/50 binoculars. After some observations of the moon and satellites and following some research on the Internet I decided to invest in the purchase of a Celestron C-8 telescope. In September, 2000 I began my first observations of the moon and planets with a quickcam v and an old computer and in June 2001 I bought a Skysensor 2000 PC and that was...... laaaaaaaaaaaa revelation: the sky was now prooooooooooooofondly revealed. In 2002 serious deep sky imaging started with the purchase of my first true CCD camera -- an Audine kaf401e. The step was crossed and a passion for astrophotography was born and has not ceased growing. In August 2002, I bought a Meade LX200 12-inch SCT and an SBIG ST9E camera. This was followed by Takahashi FS102 and TEC140 (980mm focal length) apo refractors, Nikon 300 and 180mm f/ 2.8 telephoto lenses, a SBIG ST10XME CCD camera and a Paramount ME 4000 german equatorial mount. I have recently completed building a permanent home observatory. Areas of interest
