Biography
I would truly describe myself as an amateur's
amateur in Astronomy. My Ph.D, taken at
Melbourne University was in Cell Biology. My interest in Astronomy is
quite recent and began when I was asked to write some chapters for a
secondary school text book. I thought I would be given the section on
Genetics, given my background, but to my surprise was asked to do the
Chapters on Space. It was during this time that I first saw an Analemma
photograph and decided that I would like to try one myself. The perfect
opportunity arose when I started an Astronomy Club at Melbourne Girls
Grammar Junior School (Prep to Year 6) where I teach.
