M104 "Sombrero Galaxy"
file: M104-180X31-GEM45pr2-4202023a2lmnr1b.jpg The "Sombrero Galaxy" (M104) is near the Virgo-Corvus border. At radio and X-ray wavelengths, the nucleus is a strong source of synchrotron radiation. Synchrotron radiation is produced when high-velocity electrons oscillate as they pass through regions with strong magnetic fields. Photographic Data telescopes: Main/imaging: Celestron 9.25-inch EdgeHD SCT at f/7 (focal length 1,650 mm) Guide scope: SVBony 60 mm f/4 (FL= 240 mm) . mount: iOptron GEM45 . camera: ZWO ASI533MC-Pro one-shot color astro-camera cooled to14-degrees F with Optalong L-Pro filter . exposures: 31 x 180 seconds (total 93-minutes) . photographic site: West Los Angeles |
