 A beautiful pairing of our Moon and the planet Venus can be seen in this photo taken from the front of my house on the morning of November 9, 2023. The moon near center is brightly illuminated in its lower half by the Sun and faintly in its upper disc by reflected light from Earth called "earthshine". Above is bright Venus, while trees are lit from below by a streetlamp which adds to the already extensive light pollution in my neighborhood. file: MoonVenusTrees1192023-IMG_2445aa3.jpg .
