Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex
In this image of  t
he Rho Ophiuchus complex one sees dark "streaming" nebulae B44 and B45 extending to the left of the triple star Rho-Ophiuchi
which is
surrounded by the blue reflection nebula IC 4604 at the upper right.  It is also seen above the red supergiant star Antares, enveloped
in a yellow reflecting nebula.  To the right of Antares is the globular cluster M4 with Sigma Scorpii and its surrounding red emission
nebula Sh2-9 at the far right.  At the center-bottom of the photo is the star Tau Scorpii and large faint red emission nebula RCW 129.

Distance from earth: 460 light years
