Pegasus Bridge, Normandy

The Pegasus Bridge is movable bridge that crosses the Caen Canal, between Caen and Ouistreham, in Normandy, France.
On the night before D-Day (June 6, 1944) Major John Howard's glider-borne unit of the British 6th Airborne Division, took the bridge intact and held it until relieved.
