Ephesus, Turkey -- Celsus Library
Ephesus (Hittite Apasa; Turkish Efes) was a city of ancient Anatolia (Turkey today) and Ionia (Classical Greece); where the Cayster River (flows into the Aegean Sea.  Ephesus hosted one of the seven churches of Asia, addressed in the Book of Revelation and the Gospel of John might have been written there.  Today's archaeological site lies 3 kilometers south of the Selçuk district of southwest Turkey not far from Kusadasi.
