The Great Buddha at Kamakura Japan
This 13 meters tall, 93 ton bronze statue was constructed circa 1252.  It was probably cast by Ōno Gorōemon or Tanji Hisatomo. It is hollow, so visitors can view its interior. The last building housing the statue was washed away in the tsunami of September 20th, 1498.  Since then, the Great Buddha has stood in the open air.
