Reconstructed Kitasato Institute at Meiji Mura
The actual Kitasato Institute was opened by bacteriologist
Shibasaburo
Kitasato in December 1914, as a new private research institution.
However, it is now part of the
Kitasato University. The original 1915 building was rebuilt at Meiji Mura to preserve and
exhibit Japanese architecture at the end of the Meiji period (1868-1912). |
