Doubtful Sound
This is not a lake, but an extension of the Tasman Sea.  The cliff walls shelter the fjord from winds, resulting in a glassy surface.

Doubtful Sound
Sometimes called "the Sound of Silence", there is a quiet serenity within Doubtful Sound.  At 1380 feet deep, Doubtful is the deepest of the New Zealand fiords winding with three distinct arms and several waterfalls in the area from Deep Cove to the open ocean, a distance of around 25 miles.
