Inside the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, Rome
The features comprise a simple dynamic layout with three naves divided by two rows of Ionian columns, a wonderful Cosmati marble pavement, beautiful side chapels, and an amazing ceiling, made with the first gold collected in the Americas.  The central nave seen here has 5th-century mosaic panels on the side walls.
