The dome of St. Peter's Basilica is the tallest in the world.
The Obelisk from Egypt was brought to Rome by Emperor Caligula in 37 AD.  It was hewn from a single block of pink granite, standing 83 feet (25.31 meters) high on a base 27 feet (8.25 meters) wide. Originally inscribed to "Divine Augustus" and "Divine Tiberius", it is now dedicated to the Holy Cross. It is topped by a bronze cross containing a fragment of the true Cross.
