Saint Peter's Basilica, Vatican City
The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter, commonly known as St. Peter's Basilica, is a Late Renaissance church within the Vatican City.  St. Peter's Basilica has the largest interior of any Christian church in the world. The basilica is thought to be the burial site of Saint Peter (Simon), who was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus and, according to tradition, the first Bishop of Rome and first in line of the papal succession.
