Total Solar Eclipse
July 11, 1991 at San Jose del Cabo, Baja California, Mexico
The Sun stood nearly overhead for almost 7 minutes of darkness.
The maximum length of totality was  6 minutes and 53 seconds.
However, most total solar eclipses are much shorter.

The one in the USA on August 21, 2017 will be about 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
