Helix Nebula (NGC 7293)

Helix Nebula (NGC 7293), cropped
The Helix Nebula (NGC 7293) is a nearby planetary nebula in the constellation Aquarius. It is the final stage of a dying sun-like star that was formed when the star shed its outer layers, leaving behind a central white dwarf. This is a joint project of James Foster and me using a Sky-Watcher Quattro 250P 10-inch f/4 Newtonian telescope with a ZWO ASI2600MC-Pro color camera and Optolong L-extreme 7 nm nebular filter (Hydrogen-alpha and Oxygen-III wavelengths pass) for 6-hour stacked exposure and cropped image
