Cropped image of galaxy NGC4565
NGC 4565 is an edge-on spiral galaxy about 30 to 50 million light-years from earth in the constellation Coma Berenices. It is known as the Needle Galaxy for its narrow profile. This cropped photo was a joint project of James Foster and me. The telescope used is my black tube Celestron 11-inch SCT reduced to f/7 and a 10-hour exposure.
