The Outback


This is Glen Helen Gorge in central Australia (Northern Territory). The whole region of central Australia is a desert with predominantely red rocks and an ocassional stream as seen here.


 


Uluru or Ayers Rock is an impressive red stone monolith in Central Australia. It is 2.2 miles long and 1141 feet high. Several aboriginal paintings can be seen on its walls About 20 miles west of here are the Olgas which are similar in size and color.
